Michael Golway, P.E.

Michael W. Golway, P.E., is President and CEO of Advanced Solutions, Inc., where he leads a portfolio of companies pioneering advances in engineering, automation, and biotechnology. A licensed professional engineer, he earned a B.S. in Engineering Science and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the University of Louisville’s J.B. Speed School.

As founder of Advanced Solutions Life Sciences (ASLS), Michael spearheaded the creation of the BioAssemblyBot® (BAB) and BioStorageBot® (BSB) platforms — robotic systems transforming the future of biomanufacturing, 3D bioprinting, and biobanking. He is the lead inventor on multiple U.S. patents in biofabrication and continues to drive innovations that expand the frontiers of regenerative medicine.

Michael’s leadership and vision have been recognized globally, including the YPO Global Innovation Award and the J.B. Speed School of Engineering Fellow honor. From his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, he remains a passionate advocate for advancing regenerative medicine and the transformative role of technology in human health.

Rob Eli 

Rob Eli is Partner and Executive Vice President of AI and IP at Advanced Solutions, Inc., where he leads the development of cutting-edge platforms including BioAssemblyBot, Slot3D, and BioSegment. He brings deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software development, combining hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to deliver innovative solutions for complex challenges.

With a career spanning multi-disciplinary team leadership, large-scale product launches, and automation integration across industries, Rob drives ASLS’s mission to advance biofabrication and life sciences innovation. He holds an MBA from the University of Arizona and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky. 

VP of Customer Success 

Brandon Hanke

Brandon Hanke is Vice President of Customer Success at Advanced Solutions, Inc., where he leads a team focused on training, installation, support, and custom implementation for the BioAssemblyBot and BioApp platforms. With over 20 years at ASLS, he brings extensive experience across software development, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support, ensuring clients have the tools and knowledge to maximize the impact of their solutions.

Brandon’s hands-on approach and commitment to innovation drive ASLS’s mission of advancing human health through technology and collaboration. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys building computers and experimenting with new software, often alongside his dogs, Abe and Lincoln.

Controller 

Phong Le, CPA 

Phong Le, CPA, is the Controller at Advanced Solutions, Inc., where he oversees financial operations including general ledger integrity, month-end close, reporting, and internal controls. With expertise in ERP integration, FP&A, and cost accounting, he has led multi-entity consolidations and implemented GAAP-compliant policies to improve efficiency and transparency. Phong is passionate about creating clarity through accurate reporting and cross-functional collaboration, aligning ASI’s finance strategy with its mission to advance human health through innovation.

He holds a BBA in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Kentucky. Outside of work, Phong enjoys basketball, exploring history and financial markets, and keeping up with his three energetic boys — with plenty of espresso to power him through.

Partner and Chief Scientist 

Dr. Jay Hoying 

Dr. James (“Jay”) Hoying is Partner and Chief Scientist at Advanced Solutions Life Sciences, where he shapes the company’s scientific direction and leads its applications lab.

With 30+ years of experience in tissue vascularization, biology, and tissue fabrication, Jay helps partners develop automated workflows and vascularized human tissue models.

A pioneer in using native microvascular elements to grow tissues, he holds numerous patents and has published more than 130 scientific works. When not in the lab, Jay tends his beehive, competes in tournament baseball, and supports the symphony his wife operates.

Justin Palmer

Justin Palmer is a Partner and Executive Vice President of Engineering at Advanced Solutions, Inc., where he oversees Software Engineering, Technical Support, and Information Technology. He joined ids Engineering (now an ASLS subsidiary) in 2001 as a Software Engineer and Architect, helping build proprietary platforms including Xpedient and Slot3D, while leading numerous software development consulting projects.

Following ASLS’s acquisition of ids Engineering in 2012, Justin assumed his current role, consolidating his expertise across engineering and IT operations. He holds a B.S. and a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky. Justin lives in Mount Eden, Kentucky, with his wife Nicole and their four children.

Director of Business Development and Marketing  

Dr. Lehanna Sanders 

Lehanna Sanders, PhD, is the Director of Business Development and Marketing at Advanced Solutions Life Sciences. Since joining ASLS in 2016 after completing her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt University, she has helped expand the BioAssemblyBot customer base worldwide.

Today, she leads a team of sales and marketing professionals focused on bringing ASLS’s innovative biofabrication technology to the world’s top research labs. Passionate about advancing science, Dr. Sanders is continually inspired by the amazing discoveries enabled by BAB. When she’s not sharing ASLS’s mission, you can find her running and training to keep up with her Italian Greyhound, Uffizi.
